Depression can affect anyone
1 in 7 Australians experience Depression in their lifetime and is one of the most common experienced forms of mental illness. Depression can be caused by a range of factors including challenging and stressful circumstances, loss of a loved one, childhood experiences and trauma, loss of a job, or use of
substances (alcohol, drugs) (Black Dog Institute). These life events can happen to anyone.

Depression can be treated
Recovery can take time and is different for everyone. If you are struggling you can visit your local GP. As well as getting treatment underway, it is important to find other ways you can help yourself to stay well and mentally healthy.
