Action Against Depression

A place based Approach

The Imagined Futures Alliance Against Depression is spearheading a local public awareness campaign designed to reduce stigma for people experiencing depression and encourage people to reach out for support.  The campaign is targeted at people living in the local government areas of Cockburn, Fremantle and Melville.

There has been a spike in mental health issues in our communities.  We know that the earlier people reach out for support, the easier it is to help them find relief.

The focus of the campaign is on raising awareness about depression because it is one of the most common mental health conditions and is a contributing factor in almost half of suicide deaths.

We want people living in the local government areas to see our key messages:

  • Depression can be treated
  • Depression can affect anyone
  • Depression has many faces

We need your help to spread the word

We know that it can take time for these messages to sink in, so it’s important that people continue to see these messages in different places and at different times across the whole campaign period.

Here are some easy ways to get involved in the campaign.
